Four hours before dinner and roughly three hours after! My wife had fun, but ended up giving all of her gambling money to the Mohegan Sun and I lost $120 during those seven hours. I didn't think that was too bad. PS - For gambling we played Video Poker for around seven hours during our visit. Total cost for the meal, not counting the tip was $132.Īs you can tell, I HIGHLY recommend Bar Americain. My wife and I actually finished the broth off with our spoons because it was so tasty.
And I really do mean this! Oh yes, a slice of sour dough toast was in the lobster's claw to soak up the broth. It had red snapper, shrimp, mussels and lobster claws in a broth. It was a medley of seafood called the Fulton Fish Market Cioppino. Delicious! The only other French onion soup that I have had as good as this one was in the Mirage's Kokomo's. I had their version of a French onion soup. It had apples, walnuts, blue cheese and pomegranate in it. I enjoyed the corn bread that was in the basket.įor appetizers my wife started out with the Gala Apple Salad. Some nice assorted types of bread were brought to the table first. We had a nice table with a lovely waitress by the name of Kelsey.ĭuring our meal my wife ordered two Cosmopolitans and I had a beer from a micro-brewery in Pennsylvania. The atmosphere of Bar Americain is what I would call modern elegance, yet at the same time, it is a restaurant you can relax in and enjoy a special occasion or just a night out. It has lots of attractive brownish marble and a small faux pond that creates a stream that beomes a waterfall that heads towards thes casinos and stores. This lobby by the way is one of the nicest looking casino lobbies around. The restaurant itself is part of the Mohegan Sun's beautiful lobby.
Flay of course adds his touch to everything too. You know, food stlyes that are famous and popular around the USA. My wife said it was one of the best dining experiences she ever had.īar Americain is a restaurant dedicated to American food. Let me just say I can't say enough good things about Flay's new restaurant. We both had taken vacation days off from work because it was my wife's birthday and she wanted to have dinner in Bobby Flay's new restaurant, Bar Americain. My wife and I headed down to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut yesterday.
